KINGSTON, Jamaica – Three players who performed key roles in Portmore United’s campaign to qualify for the 2017 Scotiabank CONCACAF League have been included in a Jamaica national team training camp that opens Monday.
Midfielders Michael Binns, Ewan Grandison and Ricardo Morris helped Portmore prevail over Central FC on penalty kicks, 5-3, following a 2-2 draw after extra time in the 2017 Caribbean Club Championship third-place match on Sunday in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago.
Each of the trio, who will begin training on Tuesday, played the entire 120 minutes, while Binns and Grandison successfully converted from the spot.
The 26-player camp will run through Thursday and serve as part of the squad’s preparations for a June 13 international friendly at Peru.
The Reggae Boyz will compete in the 2016/17 Scotiabank CFU Men’s Caribbean Cup finals in June and the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup in July.
