PARAMARIBO, Suriname – A top performance from GK Claidel Kohinor helped SV Robinhood secure a 0-0 draw with AS Capoise in the first leg of their 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf League Preliminary Round series on Wednesday night at the Andre Kamperveen Stadion in Paramaribo, Suriname.
It was an intense first half put forth by both teams, with the visitors from Haiti having the majority of the scoring chances, but it was unable to convert against Kohinor, who made a fantastic diving save in the 36’ to keep it scoreless.
Kohinor was called into action again in the 69’ when a deep cross from the left flank had to be tipped away by the Robinhood stopper.
Kohinor was not the only one from the home side delivering a fine defensive performance.
DF Andwele Baja also came up with a big clearance in the final 10 minutes, leaving the two-legged series wide open heading into next week’s second leg in Haiti.
