MEXICO CITY – After competing with the senior squad at the recently Copa America Centenario, Pachuca star Hirving Lozano will report to the Mexico under-23 national team camp, it was announced Wednesday.
Head coach Raul Gutierrez’s squad has been working at the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol’s High Performance Center since June 14 in preparation for the 2016 Olympic Games.
Lozano, who scored played in of the Tricolor’s four matches at the Copa, won the Golden Ball at the 2015 CONCACAF Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship and captured the 2016 Liga MX Clausura title with the Tuzos.
Mexico – the defending Olympic champion -- was drawn into Group C for Rio 2016, facing Germany (August 4), Fiji (August 7) and Korea Republic (August 10)
