TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras – The first leg matches of the 2018 Scotiabank Concacaf League quarterfinals wrap up on Thursday night when FC Motagua of Honduras welcome in Portmore United of Jamaica to the Estadio Tiburcio Carias Andino in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
Motagua enter the tie with plenty of confidence after posting a 3-0 win on aggregate versus the Belmopan Bandits, while Portmore United showed their nerve in overcoming 2017 finalists Santos de Guapiles in a 7-6 penalty shootout win following a 3-3 draw on aggregate.
Motagua’s stiff defense will get a test from Portmore United’s exciting playmakers, led by FW Maalique Foster who has scored two goals in the SCL. The Catracho side boasts fireworks in attack as well, with MF Matias Galvaliz turning heads after scoring a goal and registering an assist in the previous round.
