SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras – Motagua of Honduras will be looking to avoid any surprises when they host Jamaican side Waterhouse in the second leg of the 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf League quarterfinals on Wednesday night at the Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
The Catracho club own a 2-0 lead on aggregate following last week’s win in Jamaica and can punch their ticket to not only the 2019 SCL semifinals but also the 2020 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League with a win, draw or one-goal defeat on Wednesday night.
The key for Motagua has been balance, with four different players accounting for the team’s five goals this far during the tournament.
In attack, the likes of Roberto Moreira and Kevin Lopez keep opposing defenses on their toes and they’ll look to make life uncomfortable for the visitors from the Caribbean.
Waterhouse certainly had their fair chances of the first leg and with some better finishing off the boots of dangermen like Colorado Murray and Andre Fletcher, the island club could make things very interesting.
Motagua will be looking to qualify for a fifth SCCL, while a comeback win on aggregate would give Waterhouse their second SCCL appearance.
