SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras– Motagua of Honduras will be out to avoid any surprises when it meets Nicaraguan club Managua FC in the second leg of the 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf League Round of 16 on Tuesday night at the Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
The Catrachos navigated their way past a tricky fixture in the first leg and can now seal their passage for the next round with either a win, draw or 1-0 defeat to the Pinolero outfit.
Motagua boasts many of the weapons that helped the club reach the 2018 SCL Final, with Walter Martinez and Juan Pablo Montes among those in the mix.
A strong home performance could be just the thing that kicks Motagua into gear for another deep run in the tournament.
Managua still has every reason to feel confident, as it displayed an excellent brand of football in the first leg. Leading the way was Pablo Gallego, who scored the lone Managua goal.
Should Gallego and the Managua attack get firing early, it could make for a very dramatic 90 minutes of football.
