PANAMA CITY, Panama– CD Universitario of Panama will be seeking a big rebound when it squares off against Costa Rican side Herediano in the second leg of their quarterfinal series on Wednesday night at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City, Panama.

The Ticos emerged with a decisive 3-0 victory in the home leg thanks to Yendrick Ruiz’s brace and a score from Jimmy Marin.

Yet CD Universitario is quite capable of pouring in the goals as it showed in the previous round when it defeated Diriangen of Nicaragua 7-1 on aggregate. The Canaleros will need to summon all of its firepower to overcome the 3-0 deficit.

Interestingly enough, history will be on CD Universitario’s side heading into Wednesday’s affair. The last time Herediano held a 3-0 lead after one leg in a Concacaf series, it was eliminated 6-3 by Club America of Mexico in the 2014/15 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League semifinals.
