LA CHORREA, Panama– 2019 Concacaf Caribbean Club Shield winner SV Robinhood of Suriname will be looking to continue its dream run in the 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf League when it travels to Panama to take on Club Atletico Independiente in the second leg of their Round of 16 series.
After a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Paramaribo, Robinhood will need a quick start at the Estadio Agustin Sanchez in La Chorrea, Panama, in which an away goal could prove vital for the visitors.
Robinhood has already shown that it can score away from home in the SCL, having tallied a goal in the second leg of its Preliminary Round series against AS Capoise of Haiti.
After a hard fought 90 minutes in the first leg against the amateur club, Independiente will know it will be in for another battle.
Nevertheless, the goal-scoring exploits and playmaking abilities of dynamic duo Omar Browne and Jorman Aguilar, combined with the home support, should provide an extra boost for the Canalero club, who fell to Plaza Amador in domestic action over the weekend.
“We have a lot of confidence, we have turned the page from the match against Plaza Amador and now we’re only thinking about Robinhood,” said Aguilar in Monday’s pre-match press conference.
“We will look to give a good spectacle and bring joy to our fans, taking into account that each match is a final,” concluded Aguilar.
