HEREDIA, Costa Rica – Tauro of Panama is on its way to the 2018 Scotiabank Concacaf League semifinals after topping Nicaragua’s Walter Ferretti 4-0 on Thursday night in their SCL quarterfinal second leg at the Estadio Eladio Rosabal Cordero in Heredia, Costa Rica.

The result earned the Canaleros a 7-1 win on aggregate, becoming the second Panamanian team in the 2018 SCL semifinals, along with Arabe Unido.

Tauro was aggressive from the opening whistle and was rewarded for its efforts with an early 1-0 lead in the 9’ thanks to Edwin Aguilar’s fine finish.

After Walter Ferretti came close to an equalizer in the 27’ on an effort that hit the post, Ivan Anderson doubled Tauro’s advantage 2-0 in the 33’ by heading in an Armando Polo corner kick

The visitors then capped things off with an excellent header from Enrico Small in the 78’ and a 90+3’ penalty conversion from Polo to complete the 4-0 scoreline.
