Olimpia’s Rojas captures SCL Golden Boot

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – Olimpia forward Roger Rojas earned the Golden Boot award after finishing as the top scorer in the 2017 Scotiabank CONCACAF League with five goals.

The 27-year-old, who is the Leones’ all-time leading scorer in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League with eight goals, edged teammate Carlo Costly and Arabe Unido’s Carlos Small by a single goal.

Although Rojas did not score in either leg of the final, Olimpia captured the title on Thursday night at the Estadio Nacional, overcoming host Santos de Guapiles, 4-1 on penalty kicks, following a 1-1 aggregate score through two legs.
