SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – Olimpia defender Kevin Alvarez was selected Thursday as recipient of the Scotiabank Best Young Award as the 2017 Scotiabank CONCACAF League’s best player 21-years-old or younger.
The 21-year-old played in seven games during the Leones’ run to the title, scoring one goal in a 2-0 win over visiting Alajuelense in a Round of 16, first-leg encounter.
Alberth Elis, a former Olimpia player, captured Best Young Player honors in the 2015/16 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League.
