Alajuelense is one of Costa Rica’s most historic clubs, capturing the domestic title 29 times (last: 2013 Invierno), which is good for second on the all-time list, four behind Saprissa.
The Manudos won a pair of CONCACAF club titles, capturing the CONCACAF Champions Cup in 1986 and 2004.
They appeared in five editions of the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (2008/09, 2011/12, 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15), posting a record of 13W-6D-9L (34GF, 31GA) and advancing as far as the semifinals (2014/15).
