Costa Rican side Herediano is set to stand tall when the 2018 Scotiabank CONCACAF League begins.
The Tico side qualified for their first ever SCL by virtue of having the best aggregate record among non-champions during the 2017/18 Costa Rican season.
As one of the most decorated teams in the region, it goes without saying that there is loads of CONCACAF experience within the squad.
It all starts with FW Jairo Arrieta, who is the second on the all-time list of Costa Rican goalscorers in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League with 11.
There is also FW Yendrick Ruiz, who has 10 goals in 21 career SCCL matches, while in defense Pablo Salazar has an astounding 26 appearances in the SCCL, 24 with Herediano.
The 26-time Costa Rican champions have appeared in a whopping eight SCCLs, having reached the quarterfinal stage in the 2012/13 SCCL and then the semifinals of the 2014/15 SCCL before falling to eventual champions Club America 6-3 on aggregate.
With so many CONCACAF matches under their belts, this veteran group will be undaunted by their maiden voyage in the SCL and hungry to make a return to the SCCL.
